UKLA announces the longlists of the 2012 Book Award. The UKLA  Book Award is a national award, chosen by teachers. Shortlisting and then the final judging will be carried out by teachers from schools in the region of the UKLA International Conference. The awards will be presented at the Conference which will be held at the University of Leicester in July 2012.

UKLA is very grateful to the publishers who are committed to providing high quality literature for children and young readers. The exceptional quality of the longlists this year shows that the book trade continues to publish brilliant books for young readers from both well established authors and impressive new writers.
