Ideas in Practice

Launch of the UKLA series Ideas in Practice

This series of 40 page A4 booklets is designed to provide guidance for busy professionals on practice and planning. Written by people who have carried out the activities, Ideas in Practice booklets provide clear, workable guidance in aspects of language and literacy teaching and learning and in professional/curriculum development. With a brief background section about the principles of each topic, the booklets contain formats and examples of how these can be carried out in the classroom or Local Authority. The A4 format means that there is plenty of illustrative material and photocopiable formats. Booklet sin this series are approximately 20,000 words/equivalent in illustrative material. We hope to publish at least two booklets in the series a year. The first two are: Building Communities of Readers Teresa Cremin, Marilyn Mottram, Fiona Collins and Sacha Powell ‘I know what to write now!’: Engaging Boys (and Girls) through a Multimodal Approach Petula Bhojwani, Bill Lord and Cath Wilks

If you have an idea for a booklet in this series please download our proposal form. If you’d like to buy one of the booklets, click here for our online bookshop.
