UKLA has partnered with BFI for what is to be a vibrant and stimulating national conference for educators interested in the relationship between moving image media and literacy. You are invited to attend either or both days.
The conference offers three strands - one aimed at literacy/ English advisers, that focuses on work at Local Authority level, one aimed at classroom teachers that explores pedagogical approaches to work with film and the third strand aimed at people interested in liaisons with independent cinemas.
Workshops are confirmed from: Leeds, Lancashire, Swansea, and Birmingham Local Authorities; Lyn Scott of Childwall Valley Primary School; Film Education; three London City Learning Centres; Tom Barrance of Media Education Wales, and from three animators including Oscar Stringer. Research presentations from Jackie Marsh of University of Sheffield/ UKLA, and from Julian MacDougall of Newman University College.
