The journal Literacy is published three times a year and is received by all members of UKLA. It is a refereed journal for those interested in the study and development of literacy. The following kinds of contributions are welcomed:

  • Reports of recent research in the field of literacy
  • Informed and analytical accounts of innovative practice
  • Critiques of recent policy developments
  • Short reports of research in progress

Call for Papers

There is a call for papers for a special issue on the theme of The Power of the Text to be published in 2010. Guest Editors for this are Vivienne Smith and Margaret Mackey.

A new ‘call for papers’ is out for a Special Issue in 2011 on the theme of The Politics of Literacy. Janet Soler and Andrew Goodwyn are guest editing this special issue.
