Student Research Awards

UKLA celebrates research and scholarship in literacy education. Each year we shortlist and nominate 2 candidates for outstanding dissertations at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The awards are presented at the annual UKLA International Conference.

Dissertations on any aspect of literacy education are eligible for consideration. Studies using any research approach (ethnographic, experimental, historical, survey, etc.) are encouraged. Each study is assessed in the light of this approach, the scholarly qualification of its report, and its significant contributions to knowledge within the reading field. The deadline for submission is November 1.

Details of the student research awards can be downloaded here. The student research award application form must be submitted to the UKLA office.
